Episode 024: Fred and Rosemary West, Part 1
on April 8, 2011 in Podcast Episodes, Serial Killers by Brian CombsWe’ll probably spend four or five episodes on the Wests. The first couple will discuss Fred’s early life, the next one or two will explore Rosemary’s, and then we’ll have one or two episodes on their lives together, and the aftermath.
In any case, on with the story.

I wanted to stop by to say I love your podcast. I think the way you approach a very touchy subject as a fully academic pursuit is refreshing and I find it quite enjoyable. I know that sounds strange but the podcast makes me think and I like things that are challenging. I do have one piece of constructive criticism. The sound quality can be quite poor, and also mono versus stereo. When the sound is poor and also coming only out of one speaker/headphone it does make it difficult to enjoy.
I was lucky enough to discover your podcast early on (I think episode 3 or 4) but lately it is becoming difficult to listen too. I want you to be successful so please don’t take this as me knocking you. I just want to help. Thanks for all the work
I certainly appreciate all feedback.
The single speaker issue should have been fixed as of Mutilation Part 2 (actually, I went and rerecorded Mutilation Part 1, but many people had already recorded it). Are you still hearing the problem with Fred and Rose Part 1?
by any chance do you still have any of the serial killer podcasts? there are not on the website anymore. Would much appreciate it
Great!
I love the podcast and I really enjoy how in depth you have gone with the Fred and Rosemary West podcast. Do you have any plans to do a podcast on the Harps?
Thank you.
Thanks for the kind words!
I assume you mean Micajah and Wiley?
If so, I’d like to do a podcast on them. The hard part is that the info is limited, and sketchy in reliability.
I read “Harpe’s Last Rampage” and was underwhelmed. And I believe E. Don Harp’s other two books are historical fiction, not true crime. That leaves a graphic novel as a source. Not a lot to work with.
If I can run down better information, I’d like to do an episode or two on them.
I got interested in them because of the website you turned me onto.
