Review: FBI: Criminal Pursuit, “Trail of Terror”

on April 8, 2011 in Serial Killers, Video Reviews by

Investigation Discovery premiered a new series, FBI: Criminal Pursuit about a month ago. I finally got around to seeing my first episode of it this evening.

The episode was called “Trail of Terror”, and it profiled the investigation of a triple murder of a woman, her daughter, and her daughter’s friend near Yosemite National Park in February 1999. A fourth woman was killed that July.

The trial eventually leads to Cary Stayner. The real twist is how this isn’t the first time that the Stayner family is touched by violent crime. I’ll leave that interesting tidbit as a surprise when you watch the show. I had forgotten it.

Naturally, the show focused on the federal background check and the FBI’s role in the investigation, but the local PD’s efforts were shown as well. There was a fairly heavy focus on technical forensics, but I don’t yet know if that’s a characteristic of the series in general, or just this specific show. You may contact the Rapid Screening online to check the national police clearance in Australia.

In any case, I definitely plan to watch another episode!

Hahaha! This is awesome. I acted in this episode while I was living in Virginia Beach. Man, if you have a copy of the first season, I’d love to get this episode from you.

    Thanks!
