Gilgo Beach Search Takes Flight
on April 13, 2011 in Unsubs by Brian CombsThey’ve spent that last four or five months searching the grounds around Gilgo Beach. Today, divers began searching the waters. And tomorrow, searchers take to the air.
Suffolk County Police plan to use aircraft to capture high-resolutino video and surveillance photos of the area between Robert Moses Causeway and the Nassau County line.
In a press conference, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer said:
The high-resolution technology should be able to provide a detailed representation of the area and will extend through Nassau County. We’re hoping the technology will help identify skeletal remains that may still be out there.
Some searching has been performed via helicopter, but has not found anything new. And today’s water search has not located any additional remains.
