Somkid Phumphuang Given Another Life Sentence
on April 28, 2011 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsSomkid Phumphuang was given a fifth life sentence on Thursday by the Thai Criminal Court. Phumphuang had been found guilty previously of killing Porntawan Pungkhabut in a room of the Charoensri Grand Royal Hotel in Muang district of Udon Thani on June 18, 2005.
He was originally sentenced to death, but had his sentence commuted to life in prison because he had confessed.
He was previous found guilty of murdering four other people. These death sentences were also commuted to life in prison.
