Wife of Marc Dutroux to be Freed

on May 10, 2011 in Serial Killers by

Michelle Martin, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for helping her husband Marc Dutroux, was granted conditional release yesterday by a court in Mons, Belgium. The prosecutor in Mons has until this afternoon to appeal the decision, or she will be freed.

Dutroux was given a sentence of life in prison for the kidnapping and rape of six young girls. Four of them died.

Martin was given a sentence of 30 years in 1996. She knew at least two of the victims were locked in her cellar starving to death, but did nothing to help them.
