Anthony Sowell Seeks Another Delay

on June 1, 2011 in Serial Killers by

Defense attorneys for Anthony Sowell are seeking another delay in his trial. Although it’s been eighteen months since he was charged with the murders of eleven women, the defense says it needs another six months to prepare.

Prosecutors say they’ve had plenty of time, and that relatives of the victims and the community deserve timely justice.

Another interesting development: 19 Action News has learned that the defense has added Cleveland’s mayor and his wife to the list of potential witnesses. The mayor’s niece, Lori Frazier, is an admitted drug addict who lived with Sowell for about two years.

What exactly the mayor and his wife might have to offer the defense is unknown.
