New Secrecy Order in Anthony Sowell Trial

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Dick Ambrose issued a supplemental order in the Anthony Sowell trial on Tuesday. The order restricts pre-trial publicity, media coverage, and courtroom conduct. The aim is to limit what the public can learn about the jury selection process.

Member of the media are barred from:

…directly quoting a juror’s response to a question posed by the court or counsel.

Quoting prospective or actual jurors without identifying them is also prohibited.

Jury selection will continue Wednesday morning. About eighty potential jurors will be questioned. Twelve jurors and four alternates will be selected.
