Anthony Sowell Convicted of Eleven Murderson July 23, 2011 in Serial Killers by Brian Combs
A jury in Cleveland, Ohio took fifteen hours to convict Anthony Sowell of the murder of eleven women on Friday. Sowell showed little to no emotion as the verdict was read.
The defense tried to question the reliability of the witnesses against Sowell, many of whom had histories of drug and criminal problems. They found it a bit difficult to explain away the eleven bodies in his house and buried in his yard, however.
Sowell was acquitted of one case aggravated robbery.
The trial now moves to the sentencing phase, were Sowell faces the death penalty.
