Jeffrey Dahmer Survivor Charged in Killing
on August 1, 2011 in Victimology by Brian CombsTracy M. Edwards, 52, is the only victim to escape from Jeffrey Dahmer. He and a second man, Timothy Larod Carr, have been charged with “recklessly endangering safety” in the drowning death of a man last week.
Drugged and handcuffed, Edwards escaped from Dahmer’s apartment in July 1991. He led police back to Dahmer, where they found a refrigerator full of human body parts.
Edwards is homeless and has been in and out of jail over the years.
Allegedly, Edwards and Carr argued with Johnny Jordan. Prosecutors say they picked Jordan up and threw him off a downtown Milwaukee bridge.
Bail has been set at $10,000, and a preliminary hearing has been set for August 8. They face up to 7 1/2 years in prison.
That’s the weirdest circle of life thing ever. How bizarre. This is why truth is usually stranger than fiction.
I agree. If you wrote it as fiction, no one would believe it.
It also serves as a reminder of how far reaching the impact of a serial killer can be. It’s very common for the life of a surviving victim to go completely to hell.
I’m reminded of Shane Spiller, who was with Derek Percy’s victim Yvonne Tuohy when she was taken. He never recovered from his survivor’s guilt, and lived the rest of his life looking over his shoulder for Percy (who he was sure would be released) and doing drugs. Very sad.
