David Berkowitz asks for Forgiveness

David Berkowitz shot and killed six women, and terrorized the greater NYC area for a year as the Son of Sam. When finally caught, he plead guilty and was sentenced to 300 years in prison.

A few years back, he underwent a religious transformation, and became a born again Christian.

Now, 35 years after his rampage began, he says that his in “in anguish” over the shootings.

But I would like to be remembered as a person who is sorry for what happened, and is doing everything in his power to try to make amends to society in any way possible.

The tricky thing with Berkowitz is that he has always loved the attention. It’s impossible to know whether his remorse is sincere, or just a way to get into the spotlight again.
