Jury Recommends Death for Anthony Sowell
on August 10, 2011 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsThe jury has returned a recommendation of the death penalty for convicted serial killer Anthony Sowell. He will be formally sentenced by Judge Dick Ambrose on August 12th (Friday) at 9am.
There was applause in the courtroom after the sentencing recommendation was read.
Jurors spoke to reporters after the hearing, and said that Sowell’s statements Monday seemed “completely rehearsed”.
Judge Ambrose (a former NFL linebacker) has presided over six death penalty cases. I have been unable to determine how he ruled in those cases.
