Jeffery Lee Guillory Statements Allowed
on September 14, 2011 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsLouisiana district judge Tony Marabella has ruled that statements Jeffery Lee Guillory gave to Baton Rouge police in 2006 and 2009 were given “freely and voluntarily”. This gives prosecutors permission to use his statements in Guillory’s second-degree murder trial.
Said Judge Marabella:
The court is satisfied that the defendant’s rights were given properly.
Guillory was arrested December 16, 2009 for the murder of Florida Edwards, Sylvia Cobb and Renee Newman. His 2009 statement was given that day, during a five hour interrogation.
He also gave a statement on September 26, 2006.
Guillory goes on trial for the murder of Renee Newman on Monday.
