Rape and Kidnapping Charges Dropped Against Anthony Sowell
on September 15, 2011 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsAt the prosecutor’s request, a judge has dismissed remaining rape and kidnapping charges against Anthony Sowell. This is both to save the state money, and to avoid forcing the two victims, Tanja Doss and Vanessa Gay, to testify again.
Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Mahmoud Awadallah said that the two “have already gone through a lot of stress telling their story.”
Jurors in Sowell’s capital murder case said that their testimony was crucial in the case against Sowell.
