David Russell Williams Receives Two Life Sentences

on October 22, 2010 in Serial Killers by

David Russell Williams, the Canadian Forces colonel who pled guilty to multiple murders and rapes, received two concurrent life sentences yesterday from Judge Robert Scott. He will have no possibility of parole for 25 years.

Said Williams:

I stand before you, your Honour, indescribably ashamed. I know that the crimes I committed . . . have traumatized many people. The family and friends of Marie-France Comeau and Jessica Lloyd in particular have suffered. . . And continue to suffer profound desperate pain and sorrow as a result of what I’ve done. My family has been irreparably harmed.

Williams will be dishonorably discharged from the military, stripped of his rank, and forced to pay back all salary he received since being arrested. He is not expected to lose his pension.

He will be taken to Kingston Penitentiary, where he is expected to be placed in solitary confinement, where he will be locked up 23 hours a day. Another convict in this unit is Paul Bernardo, half of the so-called Ken and Barbie Killers.
