Joseph Naso Wants to be Unshackled for Trial

on October 1, 2011 in Serial Killers by

Joseph Naso, who is representing himself in his trial for the murder of four women, has asked that his shackles be removed for his trial next year.

Marin County Sheriff’s Office policy requires him to be shackled in court, due to the nature of his crimes. Judge Andrew Sweet has already allowed Naso’s left hand to be unshackled in court so that he can write during the proceedings.

Judge Sweet said the issues can be revisited at his January 10, 2012 preliminary hearing.
