New Witness Connects Derek Percy to Simon Brooks
on October 1, 2011 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsA witness has come forward that implicates Derek Percy in the 1968 murder of toddler Simon Brook, in Glebe, Australia. Percy has long been a suspect in the matter.
The witness, who has not been named, was ten years old and living in an orphanage next to the building site where Simon was found. He says he saw Percy staring at the children in the orphanage that day. He also says he saw Percy holding Simon’s hand.
The witness claims he was too scared to come forward at the time:
I didn’t want to remember. I just didn’t want to remember it. I was trying to forget.
Reports are that the witness came forward after seeing Percy’s picture in Debi Marshall’s book.
Several of the investigators involved in the case already wanted Percy charged in Simon’s murder. This witness may be enough to make it happen.
