Mark Goudeau Trial Goes to the Jury
on October 19, 2011 in Alleged Serial Killers by Brian CombsThe jury in the Phoenix, Arizona trial of Mark Goudeau was given to the jury today after they were given legal instructions by Superior Court Judge Warren Granville. The judge then selected five alternates, who will become involved in the deliberations if jurors are dismissed.
Goudeau is charged with nine murders, plus a number of charges for attempted murder, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, sexual abuse, aggravated assault, kidnapping, child molestation, armed robbery and attempted armed robbery. In all, he faces 72 felony charges.
As a result, deliberations could take days or weeks, even if there is general agreement among the jurors.
Goudeau is already serving 438 years in prison for a pair of sexual assaults in 2005. He faces the death penalty in this trial.
