Is a Serial Killer Hunting Detroit’s Prostitutes

Finding the bodies of four women in Detroit this month has some thinking that a serial killer may be hunting the city’s prostitutes. Three of the four victims were advertising adult services oN Backpage.com, a service similar to Craigslist.

The women were found in pairs in burning cars in the same neighborhood in eastern Detroit. One set was found on December 19th, and the other on Christmas.

Detroit police chief Ralph Godbee Jr. said:

This tie for us is disconcerting.

We are not passing judgment on any individual who is utilizing this website, yet we felt it was imperative to alert the public that deciding to meet unknown persons via the Internet can be extremely dangerous.

The cause of death for the women has not yet been determined, and the cases have not been definitively linked.

Killing pairs of victims is a crime that typically takes experience, suggesting an unsub that has been active for a while, or perhaps even multiple unsubs.
