Joran van der Sloot Expected to Plead Guilty

The plea is part of a strategy where he will fight charges connected to the murder. By giving a “sincere confession”, his defense team hopes van der Sloot qualifies for a lenient sentence.
If he does take this approach, van der Sloot could be sentenced as soon as next week.
Van der Sloot remains the primary suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. While arrested twice in the case, van der Sloot was never charged. The Natalee Holloway disappearance remains unsolved.
