Itzcoatl Ocampo Arrested for Orange County Homeless Murders

on January 16, 2012 in Alleged Serial Killers by

Itzcoatl Ocampo was arrested Friday night in connection with the murder of four homeless men in Orange County, California. A former U.S. Marine who served in Afghanistan, Ocampo was homeless himself.

Ocampo was pursued by locals after allegedly committing his fourth murder at about 8:15pm Friday evening. He was arrested later that night.

Ocampo’s family members report that he was “never the same” after being discharged from the Marines in 2010. Receiving news of the death of a good friend in Afghanistan worsened his outlook.

Reportedly, he suffered from headaches and shaking hands. Medication helped the problems, until he began drinking. Heavily.

Look for the press and media to focus on his PTSD as the story develops. Someone with PTSD would not be considered legally insane, unless the symptoms were accompanied by psychotic features.
