Episode 059: Donald Gaskins, Part 7

on March 5, 2012 in Podcast Episodes, Serial Killers by

I apologize for taking so long to get an episode out. Mrs. SK Podcast returned to work a few weeks ago, and somehow my small amount of podcasting time got even smaller. Hopefully, this big episode will make up for some of that.

Last episode, Donald “Pee Wee” Gaskins had begun committing what he would later call “Coastal Kills”, and had committed the first two if his “Serious Murders”. These were of his niece and her good friend.

I had a pair of reports on the last episode from people that listened to the episode as they went to sleep. As a result, the Pee Wee Gaskins story managed to be incorporated into their dreams.

In general, I’d say falling asleep while listening to this podcast is a bad idea. But I especially recommend against it right now because in this episode, Pee Wee commits several more horrible murders, including one of the most ghastly I’ve ever read about.

You can also download the episode directly.

Ah, you’ve made my morning, to finally see this podcast! I’ll be downloading it later soon as I get back to my laptop!

And thank you for the warning on not falling asleep with this podcast. I will try my very best to behave this time.

With you and Mrs SK podcast both working and with a newborn, I really appreciate this podcast, knowing you must have no time at all. My biggest thanks. I’d be lost without these now.

  • Di says:

I know that I will be very glad to hear the last of Donald Gaskins. That is not meant in any way a criticism of the podcast, just a general statement of my dislike for the man. Despite the subject matter, I honestly believe this to arguably be your best series of podcasts. I spent the first few episodes on Gaskins thinking “What’s so unusually bad about this guy?” and then – bang. We get hit with the full horror of what Gaskins has done. A particularly nasty individual indeed.

  • Divya says:

It sounds like I’m in the minority here. I really like getting in depth background stories on these folks. I have read a lot about different SKs in the past and often forget some of the information. Also, Mr.Combs reads several sources and unites all of that information for the podcast and I find myself learning new information. Like, I never knew that Fred West kept small bones from his victims, now I’m wondering what he did with those.
So even though I enjoy the one off shows I hope you continue to present these stories that take several episodes to complete.

    • Brian Combs says:

I don’t think anyone is saying they don’t want the detail (and I’m not planning on losing any of it), but just admitting that it can be overwhelming, especially with someone as dark and horrific as Pee Wee Gaskins.

      • Tina P says:

I love the detail also, but I completely understand Brian’s point. Humanity doesn’t get much more sick and depraved as these guys.

  • Colman says:

Thank you so much for putting together these podcasts. I really enjoy your show but I can imagine it must take its toll. I really enjoy serial killer stories but Pee Wee Gaskin has made me feel sick for a few day now. What a truly perverted monster.
