Clifford Olson Up for Parole
on November 30, 2010 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsIn 2006, Clifford Olson came up for parole for the first time. Reports are that he sneered and snarled at authorities, and then was quickly denied parole. The outcome this time will likely be the same, but he seems to enjoy the attention.
Sharon Rosenfeldt is the mother of one of the victims, 16-year-old Daryn Johnsrude. She said:
This is a soapbox for him to grandstand. I have always felt that I will be at every parole hearing to represent Daryn until either Clifford Olson or I die. I believe that Daryn would have wanted this man in prison for the rest of his life.
Psychiatric assessments at the 2006 hearing said Olson was found to be a sexual sadist with narcissistic tendencies and an inability to feel remorse. Board chairman Jacques Letendre said Mr. Olson’s violent history, lack of remorse and continuing dangerousness made it probable that he would kill again if given the chance.
Olson will make his case for freedom from within a caged enclosure at the frond of a hearing room of the Ste-Anne-des-Plaines, Que., penitentiary.
