Opening arguments begin Tuesday in the trial for Elias Abuelazam. He is accused of having killed Arnold Minor as part of a 2010 murder series that took four lives in total.

On Thursday, twelve jurors and four alternates were selected from a pool of 80 people. The selection took only two hours, after two and a half days of questioning of the prospective jurors.

While pictures of the jury were not available, at least on Thursday, it is said to be about 80 percent female.

The victim was walking home from his mother’s house on August 2, 2010 at about 1:30am. A man approached him, apparently to ask for help or directions. The man stabbed Arnold two times and fled. Arnold bled to death.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said the case could take up to three weeks to try.
