Wesley Shermantine Stops Assisting With Searches

on August 8, 2012 in Serial Killers by

Wesley Shermantine has declared that he will no longer help in the search for his victims. In several letters, Shermantine railed against bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, who has been slow in sending him promised rewards.

California Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani, D-Stockton, visited with Shermantine in San Quentin State Prison, but did not receive any assurances of help.

Galgiani wrote a bill, since singed by Governor Jerry Brown, that would allow prison officials to transport Shermantine under guard to help recover the remains of his victims. The law expires at year end.

Said Galgiani:

The victims’ families are also fed up. The victims’ families should be put at the top of the list, and egos should be put aside.
