Ashton Kutcher to Testify at Michael Gargiulo Trial
on December 21, 2010 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsMichael Gargiulo will go to trial next year for the murder of three women and the attempted murder of another. Ashton Kutcher is expected to take the stand against him.
Kutcher was dating Ashley Ellerin, who is one of Gargiulo’s alleged victims.
Kutcher and Ellerin hadn’t been going out long. The evening of February 21, 2001, she called Kutcher hoping to go out with him. He turned her down, but said he would drop by later that evening.
Kutcher says he tried to call her twice that evening, but got no answer. So he went to her house at about 10:45pm and found her lights on, and her car parked outside.
When he got no answer at the door, he peered through the window and saw what he thought was red wine spilled on the floor. Figuring she was angry at his for turning her down earlier in the evening, he left.
What Kutcher though was red wine was actually blood. Ellerin’s body was just out of view. She had been stabbed 35 times.
Kutcher’s testimony is vital to the prosecution in establishing the time of death.
Ellerin knew Gargiulo, and friends say his interest in her was intense.
Gargiulo was arrested in 2008 when DNA connected him to a woman stabbed in her apartment in Santa Monica. It also connects him to the murder of another Los Angeles woman in 2005, and a high school classmate in Chicago in 1993.
