on January 14, 2011 in Serial Killers by

Peter Coonan, also known as the Yorkshire Ripper, and formerly known as Peter Sutcliffe, has lost the appeal against an order preventing his release. Coonan was given twenty life terms for the murder of thirteen women and the attempted murder of several others.

Coonan was challenging an order that says he can never be released. The three judges at the Court of Appeal declared that the interests of justice required “nothing less” than his staying in jail.
