A witness to the abduction, Shane Spiller, leads police to Percy later that afternoon.
After a few hours of interrogation, Percy confesses to killing Yvonne, and leads police to her mutilated body.
This episode is dedicated to Shane Spiller. Without Shane’s alertness to detail, and bravery in identifying the killer of his friend Yvonne Tuohy, there’s no knowing how many children Derek Percy might have killed.
I pray that Shane has finally found peace.

If I may be so bold I wish to point out a small mispronounciation in one of the Percy episodes of your wonderful podcast.
The town ‘Cronulla’ is actually pronounced with a short ‘u’ sound, so rather than ‘Crow-noola’ it is pronounced as ‘Crow-nulla’, with the ‘u’ said as in the word ‘gull’.

I now follow “SKpodcast” on Twitter, since you mentioned it at the end of the latest Fred & Rosemary West episode.
I came here looking for a place to correct your pronunciation of “Cronulla” (which I thought was very funny! 🙂 ), but see that someone has already done so… So I will end this note by asking if you would consider a podcast on another Australian Serial Killer, John Wayne Glover – “The Granny Killer”.
Do you (or does popular science) have a theory on why so many killers have three names? (John Wilkes Booth, John Wayne Gacey, Lee Harvey Oswald….)
Anyway, that is all. I’m scared I’m starting to sound a bit strange myself, now!

I’m not familiar with John Wayne Glover. I’ll have to look into him.
As for three name serial killers, I think I’ll save that for the next Q&A show. I’ve got some thoughts, but want to do some research.
I. Think the grandmother whom he hated was probably his abuser in his child hood he had to share a house with her And his family in 1967.he didn’ tlike her at all.h e said his parents were ok..I believe he’s responsible for wanda beach murders. The beaumont murders, allen redstone,simon brooks, linda stilwell,yvonne tuohy.he didn’t work alone when he killed linda.
HAVING KNOWN SHANE SPILLER BACK IN THE EARLY 70s AS A LIKEABLE AND FRIENDLY BLOKE BUT A BIT NERVOUS.I NOW KNOW WHY.HE WAS HIDING A TERRIBLE BURDEN.IT RUINED HIS LIFE.ANOTHER VICTIM OF PERCY.
Shane’s story really makes me sad. I hate to see someone pay such a price, after doing the right thing in such a horrible circumstance.
