On February 9, 2006, Sonia Mejia was raped and strangled in her apartment in Taylorsville, Utah. Exactly two years later, Damiana Castillo was murdered in her West Valley City apartment. DNA determined that it was the same killer.

Detective Mike Ikemiyashera of the Taylorsville PD said:

Obviously it’s frustrating to know we have a profile and not much more than that.

Mike Powell of the West Valley City PD added:

But there’s still information we don’t have and that’s really what we need the public’s help with gathering small pieces of the puzzle we don’t have.
