Gary Ridgway Charged with 49th Murder
on February 8, 2011 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsGary Ridgway was charged with yet another murder on Monday. A skull and pieces of vertebrae identified as belonging to Rebecca Marrero were found in December 2011, and Ridgway is believed to be responsible for her death.
Marrero was last seen alive leaving a hotel near the SeaTac airport in December 1982. She was 20 years old, and the mother of a 3-year-old girl.
Ridgway will be brought from his cell in Walla Walla to a courthouse in Kent, Washington on February 18. He is expected to enter a guilty plea in order to place this murder under his 2003 plea agreement, which spared him the death penalty.
He had confessed to murdering Marrero at that time, but there was insufficient evidence at the time to charge him with her murder.
