Cop who Caught Son of Sam has Died
on February 22, 2011 in Law Enforcement by Brian CombsDetective Ed Zigo passed away Saturday from cancer in his Lynbrook, Long Island home. He caught David Berkowitz, the Son of Sam, by checking out a parking ticket Berkowitz was issued.
According to his son:
My father’s deductive reasoning was: ‘What is a Jewish guy from Yonkers doing parked in an Italian neighborhood at two in the morning?’
Zigo arrested the Son of Sam at Berkowitz’s home on August 10, 1977.
