It is believed that Aino Nykopp-Koski began her serial series in 2004. All of her known victims were patients in private homes and hospitals. The patients were murdered using opiates and sedatives. She made no attempt to hide the bodies.
Aino Nykopp-Koski was arrested in March 2009. She was sentenced to life in prison on December 22, 2010 for the murders of five people, the attempted murder of five people, three aggravated assault charges, three theft charges and a charge for possessing illegal drugs. Her lawyer has appealed the conviction.
