Cathy Wood was born on March 7, 1962. Cathy’s series began in, January of 1987, at age of 25, after she met her partner in crime, Gwen Graham. The two women worked in Alpine Manor nursing home, in Michigan. All of their victims were elderly residents, who typically had severe Alzheimer’s disease and could not fight back. Most of the victims were between the ages of 65 and 97. The woman began to select their victims based on the elderly patients whose initials spelled M.U.R.D.E.R. Each of the women would keep totems from the murders.

In October of 1988, Wood and Graham were arrested for the murders of eight victims. Wood was able to plea-bargain her sentence and claimed that she was only the lookout and Graham is the one who planned and committed the murders themselves. On November 3, 1989, Graham was found guilty on five counts of murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced to five life sentences. Wood was found guilty on one count of second-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit second-degree murder. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Cathy Wood was found guilty for the murder of one person, though it is believed that she participated in the murders of five people. We do not currently have information on any of her victims.
