Charlene Adelle Gallego was born on October 10, 1956 near Sacramento, California. She was born the only child in her family.
According to records, Gallego was an excellent student, although she was very shy. Her parents frequently travelled for her father’s job, but after a car accident, her mother was no longer able to travel as frequently.
After entering high school, Charlene began to experiment with drugs and alcohol and was known to be very promiscuous. Charlene met her partner in crime, Gerald Gallego, at the age of 20. After dating for a short period of time, they began to have sex parties with Gerald’s 14 year old daughter.
Gallego began her serial series at the age of 20. All of her victims were female with the exception of one male. Gallego was never the one to physically kill the victims, but she would aid her husband, Gerald, in the murders. The victims were between the ages of 13 and 34. Most of the victims were beaten with blunt objects or shot.
On November 17, 1980, Gallego and her partner were arrested for the murders of ten people. Gallego decided to testify against Gerald so that she would not be charged in California. She also plead guilty to receive the shorter sentence of sixteen years and eight months, which she would serve in Nevada. Gallego was released from prison in July 1997.
