Daniel McCrary was born in the United States, in 1952. He was the son of Sherman and Carolyn McCrary, who also had a daughter, Ginger McCrary. Ginger went onto marry Raymond Carl Taylor. The five members of this family went on a murder spree in the United States.
Experts believe that Daniel McCrary’s murder series began in August of 1971, at the age of 19, and continued until June of 1972. Daniel, and the other males in the family, would select female victims while they robbed stores. The women were then kidnapped and raped by the men for hours or days. All of the victims were shot to death with the same guns. The remains were usually found at the side of the road or in the Mcrary home.
On June 16, 1972, the five members of the family were arrested after robbing a store. During the robbery one of the members of the family had shot a police officer, who managed to survive and gave a description of the getaway car and robbers. Although Daniel McCrary was thought to be involved in the murders of at least 22 people there was not enough concrete evidence to charge him. He was found guilty of being involved in one murder.
