David Berkowitz terrorized New York City in the 1970’s with a series of shootings. He used a .44 caliber Bulldog, and became known as the .44 Caliber Killer. In his letters to the police and press, he referred to himself as the Son of Sam, the name most remember him by. He killed 6 and wounded 7 others.
