James William Miller was born on February 2, 1940 in Australia.
JIn 1976, Miller partnered up with Christopher Worrell in Australia to become the Truro Murderers. They originally met while Miller was serving time in prison for breaking and entering and Worrell was in prison for rape. Miller never physically murdered anyone, but instead would pick up women with Worrell, drive them around and then help to dispose of the bodies. The murder series is thought to have begun in 1976, when Miller was 36, and continued until 1977. All of the victims had been bound, raped and then strangled to death by Worrell. The victims were later buried in many locations throughout Truro, Australia.
JOn February 19, 1977 there was a car accident which caused the deaths of Worrell and his friend, Deborah Skuse. Miller survived the accident, he managed to only break his shoulder blade. At Worrell’s funeral, Miller mentioned to an ex-girlfriend, Amelia, that Worrell murdered many women. It was not until 1979 that Amelia chose to provide information to police, while also collecting a $30,000 award.
JMiller was brought in for questioning on May 23, 1979 and confessed to Worrell’s murders. Miller was charged for the murders of seven women and went to trial. He was found guilty on March 12, 1980 for six of the murders and sentenced to six life terms in prison, though he had never physically murdered any of the women. On October 21, 2008 Miller died of liver failure.
