John Duffy was born in 1959 in England.
It is believed that Duffy began his life of crime with his long time friend, David Mulcahy. The two teamed up and began raping women in 1982. The two began to murder women on December 29, 1985. All of the victims were raped multiple times and then strangled to death, There was no seen attempt to hide or dispose of the bodies. The ages of their victims spanned from 15 to 29 years of age. The victims were all women.
On November 7, 1986 Duffy was arrested and charged for murdering 3 women. Duffy was acquited for raping and murdering Anne Locke, but was found guilty for murdering 2 women and raping 4 others in February of 1988. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Duffy later confessed to attacking other women, being involved in the murders of Anne Locke and hinting that David Mulcahy was his partner. He was convicted of an additional 17 rape charges, giving him 12 more years onto his original sentence.
