Joseph Naso was born on June 15, 1934. He has been accused of murdering four women in Northern California and the Alphabet Murders of Northern California and New York..

Naso alleged serial series is thought to have begun in 1971 with the murder of Carmen Colon. It is believed that Naso murdered three children as the Alphabet Murderer and later went on to murder four women beginning in 1977. This being said, it is thought that his serial series went from 1971 to 1994, when he was arrested. Although there was a large age difference between the victims, they were all raped and strangled to death in an unpopulated area. His weapon of choice from 1977 onward was either pantyhose or lingerie. Naso was a photographer and often traveled for his job. He was originally arrested due to a probation violation, but upon further investigation into his house, police found evidence tying him to the murders..

He was brought in on murder charges in Marin County, California on April 11, 2011.
