Loren Herzog

Loren Herzog was convicted in 1999 of the rape and murder of three people. Five years later, an appellate court ruled that his confession had been coerced. He was then able to plead the charge down to voluntary manslaughter, and was released in 2010.

Community uproars left Herzog’s parole officer with no where to house him, so he lived in a trailer outside the prison where he had served his time. On January 17, 2012, Herzog was found dead in his trailer, having hung himself.
