Rex Allen Krebs was born on January 28, 1966 in Idaho. He was born the second child to his mother, but the first child to his father.
Throughout his childhood Krebs was abused by his father, Alan Krebs. After the abuse became extreme his mother divorced Alan and married a man named Bob, who was also known to abuse Krebs. Krebs would be forced to wear a diaper to school and was known to attend school covered in bruises. It is believed that this is the reason why he began to run away from home and rebel.
Prior to his serial series Rex was known to have derailed a train to watch for fun. He began his serial series at the age of 32. Both of his victims were female and were sexually abused prior to the murder. Krebs would typically strangle his victims to death, though he claimed that he originally intended to set them free after raping them.
Krebs was arrested on March 17, 1999. He was charged with the murders of two women and found guilty of first degree murder on April 2, 2001. Krebs was sentenced to death on May 11, 2001 and is currently on death row in California.
