Michael Gargiulo to be Charged in Tricia Pacaccio’s Murder
on July 8, 2011 in Law Enforcement, Serial Killers by Brian CombsTricia Pacaccio, 18, was murdered in August 1993. She was returning from a party, when she was stabbed in the driveway of her home in Glenview, northwest of Chicago.
Her family was inside asleep, unable to hear what was happening because the air conditioner was running. She was found on the doorstep, with her house key in her hand.
Today, Michael Gargiulo will be charged with her murder. Gargiulo is currently facing two murder charges in California.
Gargiulo, who lived down the street from Tricia, has long been a suspect in the slaying. His DNA was collected from her fingernails, but investigators were unable to determine if it got there during the attack, or was there from a previous encounter between the two.
It’s unclear what has changed to allow him to be charged now, although there has been constant pressure from Tricia’s family and other interested parties.
