Report: Police have Identified Gilgo Beach Suspect

The source is the Weekly World News, so take this with a grain of salt, but there are reports that the Nassau County Police Department has identified a suspect in the case of the bodies dumped on and around Gilgo Beach.

According to Elsa Akesson, who references an unnamed Nassau County detective, a suspect has been under surveillance for the last month, and is feeling the heat. The source, who would not reveal any specifics about the suspect, said:

This guy sent shivers up my spine when he answered the door. We asked him the same bank of questions we asked everyone else in the neighborhood. It became evident that he knew more, way more, than he should. Not to mention, he fit the profile. So we started digging around and watching him.

While I have no way of validating the validity of this report, it does sound plausible. Even after investigators were sure that Gary Ridgway was the Green River Killer, they followed him 24-7 as they put their case together.

They only arrested him when they felt it was likely he was going to kill again.

So, even if we don’t hear anything more for several weeks, it’s possible that Akesson’s report is true. We’ll just have to wait and see.
