Second Wesley Shermantine Victim Found
on February 11, 2012 in Law Enforcement, Serial Killers by Brian CombsInformation given by Wesley Shermantine has led investigators to the partial remains of another victim. The partial skull and bones found by trained dogs is believed to belong to a 16-year-old girl.
Chevelle “Chevy” Wheeler played hooky from Franklin High School with Shermantine on October 16, 1985. She never returned and was never seen again.
With the remains were found a sweatshirt and lavender jacket. These match was Chevy wore that day.
These remain were found near the remain found Thursday, which have been identified as belonging to Cyndi Vanderheiden using dental records. She disappeared in 1998.
