  • William says:

Mike Garfinkle was a great friend. He was a god. He was jesus christ with blonde hair and ironically he was a carpenter. I love and miss him everyday. I’m so happy and so hurt every moment I think about him.

  • Marla says:

Paul Wayne Matthews was my Uncle. He was a talented vocalist and musician. I miss him. His beautiful red hair, voice that sounded like the lead singer of CCR. He is now buried in Montana, with a guitar on his headstone. I do not know why he felt the need to ride the rails, but I do know he was/is loved and greatly missed. HE MATTERED to me and his family, to my dad (his brother). Thank you for an opportunity to express this. Even though Montana NEVER sought to try this case; Why I will never know…I DO KNOW Paul Wayne Matthews MATTERED then and HE WILL ALWAYS matter in our hearts!

    • Wesley says:

Love you sis… Even though I barely knew him, I feel like I know him from all dad told me about him… He did matter and deserved better…

  • Challis says:

Mike Clites was my step dad. I still remember the police call to my mom like it was yesterday. I miss him and always will. He was an awesome man and dad. R.I.P. Mike Clites.

  • Linda says:

I find it disturbing that so much info can be found on the killer but limited info on the innocent victims.

  • Justin White says:

Mike Garfinkle was my best friend and my oldest friend. We met in kindergarten at Calvert Street Elementary in Mrs. Hopie’s class. During Jr High at Portola Jr High, we had a group of 5 of us best friends. Michael, Donald, Stefan, Simon and Myself. The 4 of us are still best of friends and Mikey’s passing has become a glue, bonding us for the rest of our lives. We love and miss you completely Mike.

    • Fiona Fitzgerald says:

I also knew Michael from Calvert elementary school. Michael was highly intelligent, had a gentle spirit, And was an interesting person. My best friend lived around the corner from Michael, in Tarzana. We would run into each other throughout the years,I even remember going to his house one time and he had dug this giant hole in his backyard. I also think he had goats back there. I ran into Michael when we were both going to Pierce college, sometime in the early 90s. Michael was the same, a gentle sweet soul. I was very shocked to find out that this happened to Michael. Very Sad and Tragic. May he rest in eternal peace.

  • How can they be so sure if he was born in 59 that he did not commit murders before before 1981. Is there a chance he could have killed the two boys found in the box car in Bell county Texas in 1974 their names were Patrick Ray O’Brien 14 years old and James Patrick Carlisle 14 years old

  • Wesley says:

Paul Wayne Matthews was my uncle, and although I barely knew him, my father made me feel like I had known him as well as any other member of our large family and often spoke of him very fondly… It would be nice if we were all able to meet up again one day…
