Manuel Pardo Executed
on December 12, 2012 in Serial Killers by Brian CombsFormer Sweetwater, Florida police officer Manuel Pardo, who killed nine people during a string of robberies in 1986, was executed last night at Florida State Prison. Also a former member of the U.S. Navy, Pardo never showed any remorse for the killings, although he did urge his jury to give him a “glorious” death prior to his sentencing in 1988.
Most of his victims were drug dealers, and Pardo once claimed:
I’m not a criminal. I’m a soldier. As a soldier, I ask to be given the death penalty. I accomplished my mission.
In his one-page written final statement, Pardo said he was proud to see the New York Giants and the Yankees win so many championships, praised Spain’s winning of a World Cup title, and hoped that the country would keep its tradition of bullfighting.
